Application and Software Security
DevSecOps and Software Supply Chain Security
For organizations developing their own software, the CI/CD pipeline is the shortest route to production. We review who can change code in the pipeline. We verify that the released package is the one you built. We embed security controls permanently into the pipeline.
DevSecOps and Software Supply Chain
An attacker who takes over the CI/CD pipeline can deploy unreviewed code to production and customers. Integrity checks prevent unauthorized or malicious code from being added as code moves between environments.
The need
When organizations need it
- When you offer a software product in the EU market. The Cyber Resilience Act requires reporting of actively exploited vulnerabilities.
- When a corporate customer or tender requests a software bill of materials (SBOM).
- When a critical vulnerability is announced in a library you use and you need to quickly identify affected products.
- When teams grow and it becomes unclear who can deploy what to production.
Questions
What this work answers
- If pipeline credentials are compromised, can unreviewed code reach production?
- Can we prove which source each package we release was built from?
- When a vulnerability is announced in a component, how quickly can we identify affected products?
- Can our security tests block a release when required?
DevSecOps and Software Supply Chain
What we do
-
Secure Software Development Lifecycle
We define what is checked at each stage from design to release, and who approves it.
-
CI/CD Pipeline Security
We restructure pipeline permissions and secrets. The goal is that no single compromised account can reach production.
-
Source Repository Security
We implement protected branch rules and mandatory code reviews. No one can deploy code to production alone.
-
SAST, DAST and SCA Integration
We integrate each analysis into the correct pipeline stage. We define rules for which findings block a release.
-
Container Image and Registry Security
We ensure only approved, signed container images reach production.
-
Infrastructure as Code Review
We detect risky permissions and settings in infrastructure code before the environment is built.
-
SBOM Management
We generate a software bill of materials (SBOM) for each release. We match new vulnerabilities against it.
-
Build and Release Integrity
We make the build process traceable with signatures and records. This proves each package came, unchanged, from the approved source.
-
Security Champions Program
We assign a security owner to each development team. We define the role and working process with you.
Scope
The entire pipeline from code repository to production deployment. This includes runners, secrets, container registry and infrastructure code.
How we work
First, we map the current pipeline. We show how production could be accessed with a compromised developer account. Then, we add controls in an order that does not disrupt your teams' daily work.
Deliverables
What you receive
Security criteria that determine if a release can go live. CI/CD controls that enforce these criteria. A map of pipeline takeover paths and the changes that block each one.
NoteProperly configuring your existing tools usually comes before acquiring new ones. We base our recommendations on the platforms you use.
