Secure Code Review and Application Security
Remediation Support and Fix Verification
We design fixes for findings together with your developers. We review the code change again to confirm the vulnerability is closed.
What it is
A rushed fix may only close the example shown in the report. The same error may remain open in another parameter or service. Remediation support identifies the root cause and a lasting fix with your developers. The code change is then reviewed, and only then is the finding closed.
Scope
- Technical working sessions with developers for each finding type
- Fix options evaluated against your framework's security mechanisms
- Code review of the pull request containing the fix
- Check that other instances of the same mistake are also closed
- Unit test and scanning rule proposals to prevent recurrence
The need
When organizations need it
- When penetration test or code review findings accumulate and closing dates start to slip.
- When a closed finding reappears, in the same or similar form, in the next test.
- When an auditor or customer requests evidence that critical findings were fixed before release.
Method
How we work
-
Prioritization
We group findings by impact and shared root cause, and agree on the closing order with you.
-
Fix design
For each group, we design a lasting fix with your developers that fits your framework.
-
Code verification
We review the change containing the fix and check that other instances of the mistake are also closed.
-
Closure
We close the finding with a record of the verification date and scope.
Outcome
What you have at the end
Findings are closed with root causes removed and the fix verified in code. Each closure is recorded with a date for audit evidence.
Frequently asked questions
Can you write the fix for us?
We recommend your developers, who know the code, write the fix. We design the solution together and review their change, so knowledge stays with your team.
Do you also help with vulnerabilities found by another firm?
Yes. We start by reviewing the report with you. If needed, we reconfirm the finding's condition, then proceed to remediation.
What is the difference between retest and code verification?
A retest shows the finding can no longer be triggered externally. Code verification confirms the root cause is removed and the same mistake is not left elsewhere.
