Attack Surface and Attack Path Analysis
Continuous Attack Surface Monitoring
We monitor changes in your attack surface at regular intervals. When a new risk appears, we notify the responsible owner without waiting for the period to end.
What it is
A one-time analysis shows the attack surface on that day. A new server, opened port or published vulnerability quickly changes this. Continuous monitoring repeats external and internal discovery at agreed intervals and compares results with the previous state. Findings reported as closed are rechecked.
Scope
- Rediscovery of the external attack surface at agreed intervals
- Detection of new assets, newly opened services and expiring certificates
- Matching newly published critical vulnerabilities to your assets
- Retesting findings reported as closed
- Short summary of changes and trends in each period
The need
When organizations need it
- When your internet-facing assets change frequently and the period between annual tests is a blind spot.
- When a critical vulnerability is published in a widely used product and you need to quickly identify affected systems.
- When management wants to see how your attack surface changes between periods.
Method
How we work
-
Baseline
The initial discovery provides the asset list and owners. This list is the basis for future comparisons.
-
Interval
We determine the monitoring interval with you, based on how frequently your assets change.
-
Change and alert
In each period, we identify new and changed assets. Urgent findings are sent to the responsible owner without waiting for the period to end.
-
Recheck
We test findings reported as closed and return any still open to the list.
Outcome
What you have at the end
Each period you have the current state of your attack surface and recent changes. New risks reach the responsible owner before the next annual test.
Frequently asked questions
Is this different from a vulnerability scanning service?
Vulnerability scanning checks known assets against known vulnerabilities. Continuous monitoring first identifies which assets exist, then tracks changes and closed findings.
How often does monitoring run?
The interval is defined in the contract based on how often your assets change. An additional check can be scheduled when a critical vulnerability is published.
