SOAR and Response Automation

We automate the steps your analysts repeat on every alert using workflows with defined approval limits. Your team focuses on tasks that require judgment.

What it is

SOAR connects security tools and executes investigation and response steps as workflows. A workflow can enrich an alert, identify the user and device involved, and open a ticket. High-impact steps, such as isolating a device from the network, operate within defined approval limits. Every automated step is logged and rollback procedures are defined in advance.

Scope

  • Identifying repeated investigation steps with your analysts
  • Enriching alerts with user, device, and threat intelligence data
  • Integration with EDR, identity, email, and ticketing systems
  • Approval limits and exception lists for containment steps
  • Response workflows designed based on NIST SP 800-61 Rev. 3

The need

When organizations need it

  • When alert volumes increase and analysts spend most of their time repeating the same checks.
  • When high-volume events, such as phishing reports, exceed team capacity.
  • When a SOAR license is purchased but only a few simple workflows are used.

Method

How we work

  1. Process analysis

We identify with your analysts the most frequent investigation steps and the time spent on them.

  2. Workflow design

We document the trigger, steps, and approval points for each workflow.

  3. Build and test

We build the workflows in your SOAR product and test them with realistic alerts in a test environment.

  4. Staged rollout

Workflows first run in recommendation-only mode, then in approved automatic mode.

Outcome

What you have at the end

Frequently repeated tasks run in tested workflows with defined approval limits. Your analysts start each alert with enriched information.

Frequently asked questions

Can automation accidentally disrupt a business system?

Containment steps require approval. Critical systems are on an exception list and excluded from automatic actions.

What if we do not have a separate SOAR product?

Some SIEM and EDR products provide built-in automation. If sufficient, we use these first. If a separate product is needed, we define selection criteria with you.
